Until relatively recently it was believed that muscle soreness after exercise was caused by lactic acid. It is now known that this certainly is not the case. Lactic acid is removed from the muscle in a matter of minutes. Most sports science experts now conclude that the muscle soreness experienced after strenuous exercise is caused by micro-trauma to the muscle fibers themselves. Synapse recovery programme has three effects on the muscles: 1) Increases levels of ATP, the energy source for muscle cells, ensuring a speedier repair to damaged muscle tissue 2) Improves the permeability of the muscle cell membrane by assisting in the reduction of muscle acidosis and inflammation by speeding up the process of stabilising pH levels*. 3) Aids in the recovery of the cell wall that prevents the leakage of pain-causing substances thereby reducing discomfort.
